Senior Manager, Evidence & Learning (Early Years and Inclusion) 

At the Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL), we’re seeking a strategic Senior Manager, Evidence & Learning (Early Years and Inclusion) to join our Impact and Learning team. Lead the development of evidence frameworks, strengthen evaluation capability, and drive collaboration to embed learning and inform impactful service design, advocacy, and continuous improvement.

Location: Fitzroy 

Job Type: Permanent Full-Time working 38 hours per week (Part-Time is also considered for this role)

Salary: Up to $123,761.96 per annum, based on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation. (pro-rata for part-time employment)

About the role: 

  • Lead thematic evidence and learning strategy, developing frameworks, measures and lifecycles that align with BSL’s impact goals.

  • Strengthen evaluation capability across teams by providing expert advice, tools, and resources, and cultivating a culture of evidence-informed learning.

  • Oversee high-quality outputs, including evidence briefs, evaluation reports and insights to inform advocacy, service design and continuous improvement.

  • Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to drive collaboration and shared learning across programs and initiatives.

  • Provide strategic leadership, supporting staff, upholding ethical standards, and contributing to a high-performing, inclusive, and safe workplace.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a passion for supporting the mission of BSL and delivering excellence in your role.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • Postgraduate qualification or specialised training in evaluation or a related social science field.

  • Minimum 10 years’ professional experience in evaluation, research, and evidence-building, including leading complex portfolios and high-performing teams.

  • Advanced expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methods, data analysis (e.g. NVivo, SPSS, R), and ethical data management practices.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to build capability, lead collaboration, and produce high-quality outputs.

  • Deep understanding of human and community services, with a commitment to child safety, inclusion, continuous learning, and BSL’s mission to end poverty.
