Youth Expert Training and Project Officer
At Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL), we are seeking a passionate Youth Expert Training and Project Officer to join our dedicated Better Futures team.
Location: Fitzroy
Job Type: Max Term - 24 months, Part-Time role working 15 hours per week
Salary: $78,862.07 to $84,561.95 per annum, based on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation. (pro-rata for part-time employment)

About the role
This is an exciting position for a young person with lived experience of the Out of Home Care system to have a meaningful and positive impact on practices and processes across the state-wide Better Futures service.
- Support in the co-design and delivery of Better Futures training and Community of Practice sessions
- Participate in working group sessions with the focus of keeping practices and activities young person centred
- Participate in Youth Expert Advisory Group (CREATE) meetings and activities to ensure that a wide range of lived experiences are drawn on in co-design activities
- Provide advice and feedback to Better Futures resources as well as contribute to their ongoing development
- With the guidance of the Community of Practice Coordinator, Identify and develop project(s) aimed at evolving youth involvement practice

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:
- Lived experience of Out of Home Care care system (i.e. Foster, Kinship, Residential, Permanent Care, RMP)
- Organisational and time-management skills, and an ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Willingness to co-facilitate workshops and consultations
- Ability to develop creative content for activities such as trainings, workshops, advocacy groups
