The Brotherhood of St Laurence has a vacancy for a Chef to work Saturday and Sunday at their Residential Aged Care facility in Clifton Hill.  In this role you will be responsible for the management of the kitchen to ensure timely service of quality meals for residents.

This is a permanent part time position working Saturday and Sunday 6.00am – 2.00pm.  

What you will be doing…

  • Qualification relevant to the role Cert III Hospitality or Trade qualification
  • Current Food Safety Supervisor
  • Experience in the management of a commercial kitchen, food prep, storage recording etc
  • Preparation of meals in line with planned menu and food handling legislation
  • Directing the FSA’s to assist with the food preparation as required
  • Managing the cleaning and storage of all equipment
  • Maintaining a safe work environment and the safe operation of
  • Maintaining records for safe food storage ensuring compliance
  • Directing the team as required focused on an outstanding resident experience

To be successful you require:

  • Previous experience as Chef preferably in the Aged care sectors
  • Excellent time management and leaderships skills
  • Ability to work in a busy environment to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent ‘can do’ attitude  
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems

This is a permanent part time position working Saturday and Sunday 6.00am to 2.00pm. Ability to cover additional shifts during the week as required desirable.
