About the role

We are seeking an experienced Food Services Assistant who can deliver high-quality, timely preparation and service of meals, enhancing the dining experience for our residents while supporting their lifestyle and dietary needs. 

Salary: $64,960.40 per annum or $32.87470 per hour plus 25% casual loading, based on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation (pro-rata for part-time employment)

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and serving of all meals
  • Ability to follow a menu to provide balanced nutritious meals, ensuring resident dietary requirements and preferences
  • Ensure the kitchen and kitchenettes are stocked
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen area and equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and the BSL Food Handling Procedure
  • Complete daily, weekly and cyclical cleaning duties as outlined
  • In collaboration with manager, set goals and objectives to ensure outcomes are met

We are seeking a motivated and experienced food services assistant who is passionate about driving continuous improvements and supporting BSL’s mission.

Key skills and experience

  • Current Food Safety Certificate
  • Demonstrated experience in working as a Kitchen Assistant, Food Services Assistant or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare nutritious balance meals, knowledge of food intolerances and special diet requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety requirements of a commercial kitchen environment
  • Resident-centered mindset, with strong customer service skills
