At Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL), we are seeking a passionate Brotherhood Books Coordinator to join our dedicated team.

Location: Kensington

Job Type: Permanent Full-Time working 38 hours per week

Salary: $59,755. 48 to $65,195.98 per annum, based on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation.

About the role

The Brotherhood Books Coordinator supports in the day-to-day operation of Brotherhood Books, an established Social Enterprise and eCommerce channel. Working under the regular supervision of the Manager, Brotherhood Books, and within established procedures, the roles assist with the intake and sorting of donated books, supports the allocation of volunteer tasks across sorting, selection and listing, and helps prepare and upload of books to the Brotherhood Books website to ensure quality and accuracy standards are met. The role also assists with recording website activity, including listing throughput and stock availability, to support revenue outcomes and customer experience.
  • Assist with the intake, sorting and categorisation of donated books to support quality, resale value and processing efficiency
  • Assist with processing donated books through the warehouse in line with timeframes set by the Manager, Brotherhood Books
  • Work through tasks in the order set by the Manager to help reduce unsorted inventory, prevent backlog accumulation and maintain efficient stock flow
  • Support day-to-day activities , including monitoring volunteer output and adherence to quality standards, and report any concerns to the Manager, Brotherhood Books

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • Demonstrated experience in retail, warehousing, logistics or eCommerce environments, with an understanding of operational workflows, stock handling and inventory management
  • Familiarity with end-to-end processes, including receiving, sorting, inventory control, and order fulfilment
  • Experience contributing to or supporting online sales channels, including product listing or catalogue management (desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of accuracy when assessing product quality, preparing listings and managing data entry
  • Highly developed ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple tasks within a fast-paced operational environment
  • Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to provide direction, guidance and feedback to volunteers and team members
  • Integrity, maturity, and strong personal and business ethics, combined with sound judgement and a commitment to transparency and accountability.
